My name is Donna and I am a Vancouver girl who fell in love with a medical resident in Wisconsin. I met my S.O. in our home town to realize that a month later we would be 1571 miles away from each other. After two years of crossing the Canadian/USA borders to close the distance we’ve finally taken the leap of faith to make this a permanent thing. This is the story of a west-coast city girl living life in small town Wisconsin.
Someone once told me that “the best way to be happy with someone is to learn to be happy alone. That way, the company will be a matter of choice… and not necessity.” Long-distance has evolved for me in so many ways. It was a way to build on our communication, to have an independent life and most of all, test the boundaries of our love. To love without physical contact (for a lengthy period of time), love through actions, love through trust in the LORD, love through longing and most of all to love the person I’ve become.
I started writing this blog as an outlet to document this long journey of ours as a way to look back and see how much we have grown during the joyful times, the trying times and mostly just the mundane aspects of our lives. I hope that as I write this blog, it will continue to provide some insight and hope to those reading it.
