The other day I was having a conversation with a friend of mine who asked me how we keep our relationship going. She mentioned that it must be wonderful to be able to travel so many times throughout the year. I have to admit, it is wonderful, but aside from all the travelling that they see on Instagram, our lives are pretty mundane. Like, we don’t eat out as often due to resident salaries being like 20% of what real doctors are paid. We pretty much do what normal couples do with the exception of long-distance and being physically apart for most of the year.
On regular days, I wait until S.O. is off work and we have dinner together. Thank goodness we are only 2 hours apart. Even with the long hours, it works out perfectly that we are able to have most dinners together.
On days off, we usually get in a few games of League, stream a movie or watch Dr. Pimple Popper videos (not for the faint-hearted, yet super satisfying to watch. I highly recommend “the masked man”).
